Growing accessibility market, web standards and more arts access
Twenty four percent of New Zealanders live with disability according to Statistics New Zealand. Their recent release of disability data shows that disabled people are now a force to be reckoned with in the movement towards accessible information and communication.
Robyn has been invited to join the Government Web Standards Working Group. She is looking forward to contributing to the important work of the group to make Government web sites truly accessible.
The movement towards accessible arts is increasing. Wellington now has a great team of audio describers. Along with Nicola Owen, an experienced audio describer from Auckland, Robyn trained the team.
Robyn has also described her accessibility work on the Tirohia Mai exhibition at the National Library in a comprehensive case study at Arts Access Aotearoa.
